Clinician Guide to CAR T-Cell Therapy for R/R NHL

In 2017, the first CAR T-cell therapy was approved for adults with R/R LBCL.[2] Patients who may be eligible for CAR T-cell therapy should be referred to a CAR T-cell therapy center for evaluation as soon as possible.[1],[5]

* Approved under accelerated approval based on response rate and duration of response. Continued approval may be contingent upon verification of clinical benefit in confirmatory trial(s).[2]

Considerations When Determining Patient Eligibility

Characteristics like advanced age, poor performance status, impaired cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, and/or hepatic function, autoimmune disease, obesity, history of solid organ transplantation, and CNS involvement should not exclude patients from being referred for CAR T-cell treatment if otherwise eligible.[3],[5]
CAR T-cell treatment is complex and relies on a multidisciplinary team. Continued clear communication between all members of the care team is critical to ensure optimal patient care.
